New Zealand's first World Cup match played was on Jun 7, 1975 against East Africa at Edgbaston, Birmingham. In that match New Zealand beat East Africa by 181 Runs.
The best performance by New Zealand is reaching the semi-finals, which they have done four times: 1975, 1979, 1992, 1999.
The first tournament held in the Southern hemisphere was 1992, when it was co-hosted in Australia and New Zealand.
