Can you get tickets to the next World Cup in South Africa in 2010. The ticketing allocation system is controlled by FIFA and there will approximately three million tickets available for the 64 matches that will take place. Of those tickets a third will go to sponsors, the teams and the FIFA family. Another third will go to international visitors and the last million tickets will go to South African residents or possibly residents of Africa.
Lottery
As of 2005 there was an estimated 890,000,000 people living in Africa which means not everyone that wants a ticket is going to get one, so FIFA will manage the allocation of tickets using a lottery. Tickets will be released over five allocation. See the official FIFA Ticketing website for details.
Prices
Single ticket prices range from about $20 USD for South African nationals to $160, and can be up to nearly $1000 for the final game.
