He is a national and world champion cyclist, two time Olympian, and now 7-time winner of Le Tour de France. His efforts are even more amazing considering he is a cancer survivor, having once been told he had a 50/50 chance of surviving. Lance retired from competitive cycling after the 2005 Tour de France, but returned in January 2009 to primarily promote cancer awareness. He finished 3rd in the 2009 Tour.
