1922 Copa América in Rio de Janeiro Brazil
The 1922 Copa América was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 17 September to 22 October 1922. It was the 6th edition of the tournament.

The tournament saw the participation of the five CONMEBOL nations—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
All matches were played at the Estadio das Laranjeiras.
Each team played one match against each of the other teams. As they were tied after the round was competed, Brazil and Paraguay participated in a playoff game.
In the final match, Brazil triumphed over Paraguay with a 3-0 victory, securing their second Copa América title.
Trivia
- At the time the tournament was named the South American Championship. It was not called the Copa América until after 1967.
- The event was scheduled to be held in Chile, however, Brazil asked to host it as part of its celebration of the 100th anniversary of independence.
- At the time there were only 5 nations as part of CONMEBOL.
- Three times finished ties on points after the round-robin competition. A playoff series was planned for the three teams, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. However, Uruguay withdrew from the competition to protest the performance of the Brazilian referee in their match against Paraguay.
