1947 Copa América in Ecuador

The 1947 Copa América was held in Ecuador. It was the 20th edition of the tournament, and the first time that Ecuador had hosted the event.

The tournament saw the participation of eight CONMEBOL nations—Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru.

The event was held in a round-robin format where each team played against the others once, and Argentina emerged as the winner by finishing first in the standings, securing their eighth Copa América title, and the third of three consecutive titles: 1945, 1946 and 1947.
