2022 Women's Ballon d'Or Results
The Ballon d'Or award is an annual football award for the best international player from the previous season. The award is voted by a panel of selected journalists from the top football playing countries. Here are the women's final results for 2022 (there is also a men's winners list)
The 20 nominees for the 2022 Ballon d'Or Féminin award were announced in August. The ceremony announcing the winners was held on October 17. Spanish midfielder Alexia Putellas won her second award (as predicted), ahead of Arsenal's Beth Mead with Chelsea's Sam Kerr third.
The voting between Putellas and Mead was quite tight. According to L'Équipe, Putellas finished in first place in the voting rankings 19 times out of the 43 votes cast. Beth Mead finished first in the ranking of 15 voters.
