Car Curling
Car curling or Auto curling is a new and unusual sport that has come out of Russia. The Urals city of Ekaterinburg hosted an exhibition competition in 2017 in which teams used cars rather than the stones that are used in traditional curling.
car curlingIn the exhibition competition, four teams of ten pushed compact Oka cars towards giant curling markings painted on the ice. There was no engine power or brooms used, a driver steers the car towards the target while the other nine give it a push.
Similar to the real curling sport, the team closest to the center of the target wins.
The cars had the glass removed for safety, as well as the motors removed so it was lighter and slid better on the ice
