Skipping meals is one way to lose weight - true or false?
THIS IS FALSE
- The theory is that by skipping meals you will consume fewer calories in the entire day. However, in fact you will probably consume at least the same amount, if not more. Skipping a meal lowers your blood sugar, which usually makes you very hungry. Consequently, you end up eating more, and when the hunger pains come you may make poor food choices.
- A better approach is to eat several small meals per day, whcih helps you stabilize you blood sugar levels and control your appetite.
