Sporting Highlights for 1916

Here are some of the sporting highlights in the world of sport for 1916. Many world events were not held due to the WW1, including the Olympic games which were set to be held in Berlin, Germany.



Other events canceled included the British Golf Open, Wimbledon, the Australian Open Tennis, and the Tour de France. While some tournaments were not held, the USPGA was held for the first time, with the winner awarded $500 and a diamond studded gold medal.
