The 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games (as the Commonwealth Games were known at the time) were held in Cardiff, held between 18-26 July 1958.

Nine sports were featured in the Cardiff Games – athletics, boxing, cycling, fencing, lawn bowls, rowing, swimming and diving, weightlifting and wrestling. There was a demonstration of show jumping.
