Major Ice Hockey Events
There are many events in the international calendar for ice hockey, and also significant events in national leagues.
- Ice hockey at the Winter Olympics — ice hockey has been held as part of the Olympic Games since 1920.
- The Stanley Cup — championships between the winner of the National Hockey Association (NHA) and the winner of the Pacific Coast Hockey Association (PCHA).
- World Cup of Hockey — the 3rd event was held in 2016, and will continue every 4 years. Organized by the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA).
- Ice Hockey World Championships — an annual event run by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
