Georgia at the World Cup

The Georgian national football team has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup. They became a FIFA member in 1992, and has entered qualification in all tournaments since 1998 but have failed to qualify.

Prior to 1992, players from this region were presented as part of the team from the USSR. Most notably, Murtaz Khurtsilava captained the USSR team and played a crucial role in the 1966 FIFA World Cup.
