There are several awards currently presented to AFL players

• Brownlow Medal — for the 'fairest and best' player.
• Coleman Medal — for the leading goal kicker.
• Norm Smith Medal — award given to the player adjudged by an independent panel of experts to have been the best player in the AFL Grand Final. Awarded since 1979.
